About Us

History

Our Founder began his computing life in 1980. He programmed in DOS, had 1K of memory which he quickly upgraded to 16K by cycling 5 hours across London to get it. He graduated in Psychology / Computing (B.Sc Hons) in1986, helping a government agency to research and install Job Search, a touch screen application enabling job seekers to access information from a national database. His talents as a psychologist took over and he worked as a therapist for ten years, gaining his MA.

London was crazy so he ‘retired’ to a farm in the middle of the Irish bog. His first love, computing, rose to the surface and he set up his own business offering technical support and training. In 1994 he became a web entrepreneur. ‘I’ became ‘Us’ and within two years we became an Internet Service Provider with a leased line straight into the Dublin pipe. Again innovation was at the forefront and we set up wireless access within a twenty mile radius of our office and installed wireless VPNs. In those days the costs involved with providing such services were prohibitive, around €2k per month. Then the Internet bubble burst and so did we.

Now

All debts have been paid off. All customers were taken care of. We are back. We have 20 years experience. We have Imagination and Tenacity. We kow how to use the Internet. We don’t trust computers, we use them. We don’t use people, we trust them.

Strategic Marketing

Marketing your brand, product or services can be a daunting task. Perhaps you have noticed the following:

All press releases are distributed via the Internet
All media is Internet associated. TV ads give their web site address. Movies give their web address
Every video ever made ends up on Youtube
News is distributed via the Internet, e.g. BBC, CNN, Reuters, AP etc. Most newspapers are online
Who doesn’t have an email address?
Who doesn’t have an Internet connection?
Who hasn’t heard of Google?

Advertising

The Most Wonderful Advertisement in The World maybe. But can anybody see it? It is on the Internet..only seen with a $2000 computer built last month with a 24Mb connection. It is funny, entertaining, innovative, memorable…well the ad is. Is your product? ……loading 1%… 5 mins later: ……loading 22%. and please do not tell me it is free! Nothing is free. Public television is free. You are your advertisement, what message you are sending out reflects back on you. “Guinness is good for you”

Public Relations

Please, please do not be ‘corporate’. In all your dealings with your customers, be friendly. Above all help them and they will tell everybody. Don’t give them the hard sell, nobody likes it. Be prompt, Provide FAQs, provide online help. A friend bought a new computer online yesterday. When she went to pay for it her credit card had been suspended but she had money in the bank. She telephoned the sales team. 1 hour later she had paid for it via wire transfer. She will buy again.

A certain informality will put people at their ease, a wry comment ~ after you have solved their problem, leaves your customer / clint with a smile. A happy customer will………..?

If you are an individual you can do it. If you are a company allocate a web master. All clients receive a “getting started with web design” PDF.
